Ertha Beta v0.6.5 Patch Notes

The time has come, Erthians! Ertha Beta v0.6.5 is LIVE and ready for testing.

As we’ve mentioned in our previous development blog, the development team of Ertha has been putting on a heavy focus towards our infrastructure, back- end & server systems. This means that we’ve been working on streamlining items between platforms like the Ertha Marketplace, blockchain, game, and communication lines for utilizing $ERTHA Tokens.

We’re very happy to confirm that most of the current development focus is going towards creating the economy of Ertha. Expect to see the first versions of jobs, contracts between players, HEX research and exploration in the upcoming updates!

Without further ado, let’s jump in to what Ertha Beta v0.6.5 entails:

Version 0.6.5

  • Added Ertha Marketplace communications API. Now, the game can interact with the external marketplace and vice-versa. This unlocks the first step of a working economy.
  • Added all items from marketplace to the game (Backpacks, bandanas, etc.)
  • Reworked the in-game inventory to support slots, interactions and better integrate with the multi-model solution we currently have.
  • Migrated all unique items from old DB to marketplace.
  • Major changes to the way inputs work in the game. Now we support multi-key combinations and schemes, which will bring many custom key-binding and QOL improvements in the future.
  • Added input schemes for different platforms (Win / Mac)
  • Added Inverse Kinematics to character animations.
  • Changed the way the character moves in space. This allows for future scenarios of falling or dying.
  • Added ragdoll support for the character.
  • Changed the way the character model loads. Now we support any amount of character variations in any build.
  • Changed the way the top-down camera works to be more user friendly and intuitive.
  • Updated land terrain generator to generate cells.
  • Reworked character swimming. Now users can dive under water and have buoyancy on the surface. “Breath” stat added, but no there’s no effect yet (like drowning) and no display.
  • Generated images for all items existing in the game (including default ones from char customisation).
  • Streamlined items to be displayed properly in the player’s inventory.
  • Adjusted “slots” of character. Now we can have any amount of slots like rings, necklaces and so on.
  • New swimming animations and transitions.
  • New movement animations.
  • Added footstep sounds and other misc SFX.
  • Dynamic animation system to “look at objects” for the character.
  • First Person View body and hands (some artifact clipping can still happen. Proper combat hands coming soon).
  • Dynamic camera collision detection when in 3rd party view. Camera no longer clips into the ground if tilted too much.
  • Fixed some communication issues in the globe view.
  • Improved scene loading time by moving some systems outside the scenes .
  • Improved performance by reworking some heavy input systems.
  • Some minor fixes and improvements

Ertha is an MMO 4X (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate) game with extensive opportunities to satisfy one’s need for curiosity, competitiveness, and social recognition through roleplaying in a vast geopolitical map.
With three distinct characters to select from and endless possibilities to alter them, players themselves will be the creators of their own narrative and wealth both in virtual and real worlds.
